SIKORSKY MIL-A-8625/SS 8483 Anodic Coating for Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys (Sulfuric Acid Anodize) AIII Notes:
H. Unless otherwise specified, MIL-A-8625 anodize shall be Type I, chromic acid, and Class I, non-dyed and unsealed. When chromic acid Type I is used as a mask for subsequent Type III anodize, Type I shall be sealed. Caution: Pre-bond preparation of Aluminum parts requires a specific anodize procedure in accordance with SS 8752, Cleaning of Material Prior to Bonding.

T. For parts made from 7050 aluminum; all parts shall be visually inspected after anodizing to assure there is no surface pitting or intergranular attack. Additionally, two panels, a minimum of 3" x 6" from the same material as the part, shall be processed with the parts through all the processing steps. Examination of the panels at 10X minimum shall reveal no evidence of pitting or intergranular attack.
